Spiritual Journey: Meditation

I have been busy. Like super busy. But I've recently gotten into Tarot Cards. Blame it on my witchy side. Blame it on my curiosity or perhaps there really isn't no one to blame :). I've been going through a lot.

My first battle started last year after I moved. I thought getting away from my problems would solve everything and it did not. I spent majority of last year querying. I got a couple of requests, but eventually they all backed out. :(

I was crushed, embarrassed, and overly emotional. I spent a year writing that book and had a couple of beta readers read it and offer advice, but nothing. Not one agent was interested after reading the first couple of pages. So I went back to reading. I literally began jumping from one book to the next. And then, I eventually started editing my first book: a witch novel, but then I returned to AB. I call her AB, a YA fantasy that homages an old story that I love very much.

Anyways, so I'm like on super edit mode, and all of the sudden BAM: another bump in the road, and this time it was a financial setback. So I've been busy with that problem all year, but mostly been sleeping in a pool of 'poor me.'

So I've made a decision to start a spiritual journey. I have to get me right before I could anything else: you know what I mean? So first, I brought crystals, and then came my very first deck of Tarot. And let me tell you, I am a natural.

My first reading was amazing. Everything was accurate, with an extensive amount of advice. See image below:

The cards suggested that I start meditating everyday and healing my inner child. And my first meditation was successful, but boy was she sad. Actually, she showed me memories I had forgetten about and afterwards, I pulled the cards for clarity and the messages were as clear as crystals. Needless to say, I have a lot of work to do, but will also continue to edit my ya. I'm halfway done :) Here's another image from today's reading:

Twitter's #DVpit

Amazing agent Beth Phelan from The Bent Agency created a new event on Twitter about a year or two ago named: #DVpit. Its main focus is to aim for diverse authors with their own voices to pitch  diverse books. The publishing industry is in a desperate need for change and I am all for it. Agents are all for it, and even successful authors have shown their support.

Great News!

Yesterday was perfect. No seriously, I know nothing is perfect, but yesterday was indeed perfect. I was on my way to Twitter to participate in the #PitMad event and right before heading there, I decided to check my email and boy was I surprised. Like super surprised. Read on!

Starting a New Novel

So, I am starting a new novel. This will actually be novel number three, and I couldn't be more excited. Most of my stories come from visions, in dreams, at the park, etc. They just hit me, like the first time you had a crush on a boy or a girl, or like the time you tried the best pizza ever, or the love you get when you found an amazing TV show, movie, and all that sweet jazz.

Hold's Head Down in Shame

Remember that confession about querying from the other day? Well, two things, an agent sparked interest right afterwards, but she wasn't passionate enough to take it on. And two, the submission guidelines: yes, I messed up on them. A lot of them and boy am I shamed.
